„Creating international semester regarding military education needs for future officers in Europe"

What brought the project realisation – added value of the cooperation between 5 Military Academies from the students’ point of view

The Strategic Partnership Project “Creating international semester regarding military education needs for future officers in Europe” was the biggest educational event of this type in a whole Europe.

Thanks to the project we had an opportunity to took part in the testing phase of the International Semester.

There were lot of classes, lectures and practical exercises during the residential phases conducted by instructors and academics from different countries. Many people devoted their free time to prepare this programme, then cadets spent hours working together, learning from each other, interacting and evaluating developed programme as well as educational materials.

After each such large event there should be a time for conclusion. What are the effects of this project? What have we achieved? Is there any profit of our hard work?

The answer is – YES. Plenty of results could be spotted after weeks of cadets’ cooperation.

Firstly, the level of English, especially conversation. It was a great opportunity to improve language skills. When you are forced to communicate in “other” language all the time, you start to recall many words, your hearing get accustomed and talking is getting easier every day.

Secondly, the project was perfect possibility to meet people from other countries. Meeting cadets from other foreign academies is connected with sharing military experience and thoughts. It was great opportunity to learn about our allies, their tactics, methods of teaching and training. Exchange of knowledge also leads to development our skills, broadening our horizons.

Moreover cadets created beautiful connections, which could evolve into lifetime friendships. It could be very helpful to organize cooperation of countries in the future.

Of course the classes provided students with tones of information, all of them were interesting and useful.

From our point of view Strategic Partnership Project “Creating international semester regarding military education needs for future officers in Europe” was a result of connecting experienced teachers, well-prepared programme and great atmosphere.

We hope that in the nearest future military academies will decide to implement the programme of international semester and thanks to that cadets will receive more opportunities to improve their skills and competences abroad.
