On 10 October, representatives of the army and of pro-defense organisations, as well as representatives of schools where military classes function, met in the Sejm. The occasion was the ceremony of presenting congratulatory letters and commemorative medals in memory of the 450th  anniversary of the Union of Lublin by the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, Małgorzata Gosiewska, for outstanding services rendered to pro-defense organisations and strengthening the military potential of the country.

Distinctions were awarded to the Rector Commandant of the Military University of Land Forces , Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc,  Eng., and the Dean of the Management Faculty, Lt Col Józef Ledzianowski, PhD.

At the inauguration of the meeting, Małgorzata Gosiewska spoke about the importance of military classes functioning in Polish schools and their role in the education of young people. - Activities aimed at creating a good image of the army, supporting the Polish Army and preparing staff are significant for building the security of Poland - emphasised the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm. - I cannot imagine celebrating the uprising in Warsaw without the presence of young people from these schools  - stressed Małgorzata Gosiewska, thanking their headmasters and teachers. The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm also assured that the Parliament is and will be open to supporting pro-defense activities and organisations.

Michał Jach, the Chairman of the Sejm National Defence Committee, sent a letter to the guests present at the meeting. He expressed his recognition for the activities of pro-defense organisations to build and strengthen the social background for the Polish army and assured that they deserve the support of the Sejm.

The meeting in the Sejm was a summary of the February conference "The role of pro-defense organisations and military classes in building the social background of the Armed Forces", which was held in the Parliament.
