Polish Army Chess Championship took place from 02 to 07 September 2019. 63 players joined the championship, and the tournament itself took place at the War Studies University in Warsaw. AWL Cadet won a gold medal!

The Military University of Land Forces was represented during this year's tournament by: MCpl Cdt Paweł Głuszak (12th school company) and Cdt Sgt Kamil Cichy (13th school company). Cdt Sgt Kamil Cichy was awarded the gold medal after winning seven games and tying twice. Thanks to this victory, our Cadet secured himself a place in the Polish Army representation, which will participate in the NATO chess championship. The championship will take place in Berlin from 15 to 21 September 2019.

It is worth mentioning that Cdt Sgt Kamil Cichy rated the level of this year's championship very highly: - The level of the competition was exceptionally even, as all the best chess players of the Polish Army took part in it. The event was very well run, which is a proof of the organisers' professionalism. I am proud of the success that I achieved, and representing the Military University of Land Forces is always a great honour to me.

The winner received a commemorative cup and a diploma. We would like to congratulate our Cadet and wish him further success!
